  Mom - Why do you treat me like the damned!

  not that my mom would ever visit this site - but i have to just vent.

  last night my mom promised she would meet me at home to help me move some furniture.

  she made it seem like it was a tremendous deal and the only reason why she would be by would be because she had something else to do in the neighbourhood.

  First of all (((HUGS))) to all of you who have suffered at the hands of the WTS and parents who shun you. I know how it feels because I am a victim of it too.

  As a parent I don't think I could do it which makes it harder for me to understand how my mother can. I think Blondie had it right - the WTS attracts abusive people. It fits their mentality. No real love and no conscience.

  Second - if you are a person who needs to talk about this but feels too insecure about an open forum I have set up a private discussion forum for people who need to talk and share. Please email me if interested.

  Another example citied in the program was Baruch. Though being a loyal and faithful man even he lost proper Christian focus at times, even so, by enduring faithfully he made it to the end. (Jer.45:3,5)

  How on earth would Barach have known anything about "proper Christian focus"

  and as for the drama - we all know they won't come clean - back track - hide the bodies and tape their mouths closed - GB policy whenever caught red-handed

  Support forum for those abused in WTS

  over the last few weeks a lot of people have come forward and posted stories of abuse while they were jws.

  these often were experiences as a child victim or a wife at the hands of an abusive husband.

  the forums are open to active jws and those who have left.

  JW Literature?

  this is my first post, just wondering how long after you left the borg.

  did it take you to get rid of all your books and literature.

  i felt ashamed to get rid of mine and it took me about 5 years to finally break down and dispose of it.

  Assemly food tickets - WHY??

  i was laying in bed last night thinking how lucky i am that i havent had to undergo the mental torture of attending the district convention.

  then i started reminiscing about the old days and i suddenly remembered those ridiculous tickets you had to buy to pay for food.

  they were those brown cheap cardboard type efforts with i think 10 tickets per sheet.

  Waiting I was doing some research yesterday and was going over some material on trauma and memory and I think I found some documentation that supports the idea that you would not know what had happened just before the accident. I don't have time now but will get it to you asap

  BTW. A few people have requested access to the dicussion forum. Some have gone in and not posted. Not a problem but any ideas on what to do to get it started? I have started a few discussions but I think some of the shyier folks don't want to be first

  that title looks like a watchtower article, doesn't it?

  i raise this question after reading a recent thread, regarding what people believe now that they are no longer a witness.

  Spirituality for me probably can best be summed up as "to thine own self be true" Now this isn't as egotistical as it sounds.

  When I am connected to myself - really connected - I am listening inside for my answers. When I am listening and following that inner voice I am living in a way that is true to myself. When I do this I have no guilt. I live so that wehn I go to bed at night I feel good about the choices I have made during the day - no regrets.

  I find that if I compare this inner voice to the Christian ethic (not JW but scriptural) it is carries the same moral code. I would suspect but have not checked that this moral code is the same regardless of the religious code book - Bible, Koran, etc.

  My spirituality crosses all lines and is not connected to any religion or beleif system other than "to they own self be true" My spitituality is also connected to nature in that when I am in a natural setting - water trees earth I feel most connected to myself.

  I am not perfect at this. I still forget to listen to my inner voice and when I do I get into trouble but I am getting better at listening

  ok i have a scenario that just seems wrong to me.

  i would like any advice or opinoins you have.. here are the facts...... ----my sister was sexually abused as a child ( i dont know by whom and she is not talking..still a dub).

  ---i was sexually abused as a child (the memories have just started surfacing and i dont know by whom yet).
